Although the principle of mediated (indirect) electrolysis was established many years ago, new, exciting and useful developments have been made in recent years. Our review "Redox catalysis in organic electrosynthesis: basic principles and recent developments" (Chem. Soc. Rev. 2014, 43, 2375–2878) accounts for these developments and is now available online. The article was also selected to appear on the front cover of issue 8, 2014 (see below). The cover image, designed by Peter Allen, depicts the indirect anodic housane rearrangement, a reaction which was elaborated in our group.
